Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI) are a non-profit organisation dedicated to enabling finance to deliver positive change. They believe that in order to drive this positive change, they need to connect people and ideas with the goal of helping to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
This year, between the 8th and 10th of June, GEFI are hosting their 6th annual Ethical Finance Summit as part of their Path to COP26 campaign. This year’s theme centres on the idea of Financing a Sustainable Future: Climate and Beyond. The three-day virtual event will feature a variety of speakers from across the global ethical finance sector who will discuss a wide array of issues relating to how our finances can help to mitigate the impact of climate change.
The summit will begin with regional leadership showcases on day one followed by a focus on climate finance and natural capital on day two. The final day will explore the long-term future of ethical finance, looking at financing the SDGs, the social impact of ESG and leadership for the journey ahead.
The topics that will be explored include; Global Trends in Sustainable Finance, The Role of Finance in Delivering Net Zero, Finance for Nature, How the World Can Finance the SDGs and The ‘S’ in ESG – Why It Matters. There will also be a series of regional showcases from Australasia, South East Asia, South Asia and West Africa.
