In August we launched our first survey in five years.
A lot has changed in the world since 2019, and we are aware of how important it is that we remain up to date with our clients’ concerns. So, together Julian and Marian crafted a survey containing 20 questions split over 4 sections; SDR, Conflict, Politics and Taxation. We chose these topics because we are aware of the pressing issues that they represent. We sent our survey out to our clients in receipt of our on-going services.
By drafting a range of questions from simple ‘yes/no’ to rankings and open-ended questions, we feel that we gave our clients ample opportunity to fully explore the issues raised and gave them the freedom to answer openly.
We are overjoyed with the responses we received and feel incredibly grateful for their participation. We never take for granted how engaged our clients are and we feel this engagement is shown by the insightful answers we have received.
Our key takeaways from the survey:
SDR
The data showed us that our clients lack confidence in investment funds. The majority of clients feel that there is either a lot of greenwashing or a bit of greenwashing. However, they are confident that the SDR will help to combat this issue.
Conflict
The vast majority of clients want to avoid investing in companies that associate with Israel and more than half are taking part in either consumer or political boycotts.
Politics
Overall, our clients feel a sense of hope towards the new Labour Government and believe that they will create more opportunities for environmental and social investing.
Taxation
Our clients believe that taxation on wealth should be the same as earned income and they do not wish to avoid higher taxes.
When asked if they had any other concerns, our clients shared a wide range of issues with the environment and the climate crisis being the most pressing.
Once again, we would like to thank our clients for engaging with us on this project and we hope that you have found their responses as interesting as we do. If you would like to learn more, you can find our full report here.
