82% of our clients wish to avoid fossil fuels entirely from their portfolio – Ethical investors support fossil fuel divestment and would rather their money be invested in cleaner alternatives and renewable energy.
71% of our clients would be willing to invest in banks as long as they do not engage in fossil fuel extraction – It appears that ethical investors are open to investing in banks as long as they are transparent about the activity they are funding. Clients expressed desire to invest in ethical banks with clear environmental, social and governance policy. However, 29% of clients wanted to avoid banks entirely.
For the majority of ethical investors, nuclear energy is not seen to have a role in the transition to a low carbon economy – 46% of the respondents to our survey do not think nuclear has a role in the transition to a low carbon economy and 28% are unsure. Main concerns arose surrounding the disposal of radioactive nuclear waste.
