Who are UKSIF and what is Good Money Week?
The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association are focused on bringing together the sustainable finance and investment community in the UK. They aim to support their members to expand, enhance and promote the sustainable finance sector. They have over 300 members (including Ethical Futures) who manage more than £19 trillion of assets and represent a wide array of areas such as investment managers, pension funds, banks, non-governmental organisations and financial advisers.
UKSIF and their members work closely with policymakers and others to find new ways to overcome barriers to the growth of sustainability. Their vision is to have a fair, inclusive and sustainable financial system that works for the benefit of people and planet and drives positive change.
Ethical Futures are proud to be members of UKSIF and we are always grateful when we get the opportunity to work alongside them. This year Shane and Marian attended their Spring Conference where we heard from representatives from The Scottish National Investment Bank, Thrive Renewables, Scottish Widows, PwC and many more. The topics covered ranged from renewable energy and the opportunities available to us to how to align corporate values with company values and how to apply the new SDR to a business model. Good Money Week is an initiative started by UKSIF in 2005. Every year at the start of October, UKSIF hosts a range of events which aim to help the public to make better choices with their finances. They want to help people to realise the positive impact that they can have on the environment with their financial decisions. UKSIF likes to encourage everyone to get involved and find ways to take part. We’ve happily taken up the challenge and this year we will be launching the results of our up-to-date client survey during Good Money Week. So, keep your eyes peeled next week!
